Bodyguard Raff’s love life had two common complications—distance and time.
Issues that would later pose an all-important question for him—Is love always unconditional, or does it sometimes have a shelf life?
There are three firm rules to being a bodyguard. To Protect their primary members from harm at all costs, to mitigate risks to their safety, and to maintain discretion during formal escorting duties.

And there was also a professional obligation to maintain personal boundaries around those they protect, as well as their friends and family.
People may think that guarding a band of rockstars like Screaming Shadows is an exciting, fast-paced lifestyle, but for Raff, but there were also long periods of time where he sat around doing nothing. With time on his hands and the lead singer’s sister, Beth nearby all the time, a close bond formed, one that became an obvious attraction.

Personal and professional responsibilities demanded that Raff distance himself in order to squash any temptation or unwanted advances, because he didn’t want or need the complication of a forbidden romance.

At the end of the tour Raff was patting his back that neither had acted on the sparks of chemistry they’d felt, but it forced Raff to look at the things he valued in life and how he lived his life.

Armed with a plan, Raff headed home to put his personal life in order. But what happened next left him shocked to the core and questioning everything he’d once though as important.
